URBAN
FARMING
Pune:INDIA

ABOUT US
We are approaching this research from a visual anthropology perspective, and as two researchers from England we are fascinated by the spaces in which people are farming here in Pune. In a world increasingly lacking in space for agricultural land, farming is being
taken to terrace pots and windowsills, and people are taking
small-scale production into their own hands.
Pune
We are interested to see whether urban farming is being
used as a solution to poverty and hunger in Pune. This
is why our focus within this research is to understand the limitations and difficulties that are present when trying
to farm in a city, and more importantly what solutions
to these problems individuals have developed.
The initial phase of this research involves visiting people's
urban farms and blogging our accounts of their individual challenges and solutions.
The next phase is bringing people together and sharing that knowledge.
