EVENTS

As we are looking to understand the knowledge-sharing that can centre around the growing of food, a natural extension of the research is to improve and support these knowledge networks.

Our primary interest is in seeing if this knowledge can be shared with communities that would benefit the most from having a source of home-grown food, and potentially an added income. This will therefore involve both workshops which are open to the public, and outreach work where we make visits to different communities.

We want to get the ball rolling with these events over the next few months (before we have to head home!), and hope to develop the already existing networks so that people can stay connected and provide each other with support in the longterm.

As we are researching food, what better way of getting people together than having a meal. Our initial event will be a potluck dinner, where attendees bring food they have grown themselves, and both food and knowledge is shared.

This will be an opportunity to discuss and develop further events, which we will take forward with the help of members of the community.

Workshop: Drive Change Learning Centre

After a great morning spent with the students at Drive Change Learning Centre and talking about our research and other Urban Farming topics they'd covered this term, we worked together to create this colourful booklet. Students of different ages worked individually or in small groups to produce each element included in this pamphlet. A big thank you to Mayuri, Anushah, Tanishka, Aditya, Divy and Vikram for their artwork and information!
